Play & Analyze

Quality over Quantity

Analyze for Free

Analyze your chess game for free with maximum depth using the embedded Stockfish 16.1 engine. Discover brilliant moves, identify blunders, and improve your skill by understanding the best variations in any position without needing to register.

Analyze now!

Analysis Philosophy

Playing many games without analyzing them is like exercising without rest: exhausting with no improvement. True progress comes from deeply understanding every decision.

One well-analyzed game is worth more than ten mindless ones. Spend time understanding why the engine prefers one move over another, not just which move is better.

How to Analyze a Game

1

Play with Intention

Before analyzing, ensure you played with focus. A half-hearted game offers no valuable analysis material.

💡 Tip: Play games with longer time controls (15+10 or more) to have time to think.

2

Analyze Without Engine (First)

Before checking engine suggestions, review the game yourself:

  • Identify critical moments (evaluation swings)
  • Ask yourself: "What was I thinking here?"
  • Note your obvious mistakes before seeing the analysis
3

Use the Engine with Purpose

The engine is a tool, not the final answer. Don't just copy its moves.

❌ Bad Analysis:

"Engine says Nf6 instead of Nc6. Next move."

✅ Good Analysis:

"Engine prefers Nf6 because it controls e4 and d5 simultaneously, while Nc6 allows e4-e5 gaining space. Let's see the main lines..."

4

Deep Dive into Mistakes

When you find a mistake, don't just skip it. Ask:

  • Why does the engine prefer this move?
  • What principle am I violating?
  • How to avoid this mistake in the future?
5

Create an Improvement Plan

After analysis, identify a recurring pattern and work specifically on it.

📝 📝 Example: "I lost because I didn't calculate piece sacrifices. This week I'll do 20 sacrifice puzzles."

Remember: A deeply analyzed game teaches you more than ten games played mindlessly. Quality always beats quantity.
